Home Extension Builders In Newbury - The Process
Phase 1: Groundwork
The first step is to mark out the footprint of your new house extension and then dig and concrete the foundations. Once your foundations have cured we will then install any necessary drainage that needs to be put in to take any waste water from kitchens/bathrooms of your new space. The last step of the groundwork phase is to build your extension up to the damp course and then prep and pour the over site (your new floor space).

Phase 2: Brickwork
Once the groundwork phase is complete it's time to move forward with building the walls of your extension. This next phase is exciting because you start to get a feel for your new space. The walls are built to lintel height and your new windows and doors are formed. If you're having a single story extension the brickwork continues to plate height to get ready for your new roof. If it's a double story then brickwork continues to pick up any steels you have in your floor zone and your floor joists. The same process is repeated for the second lift to get your double story extension ready for it's new roof.

Phase 4: 1st Fix
Now you're new extension is "in the dry" thanks to the felt and baton on the roof, the inside work can begin. We call it the first fix stage and during this stage the 1st fix carpentry, plumbing and electrics are completed. First though, Your internal floor area can now be insulated and the screed can be laid. Stud walls are then built and cables and pipes are fixed in the correct locations for sockets, lights, power supplies, water supplies, waste outlets. |
